In a fashion very typical for me, I took an idea I liked and ran with it. Last weekend’s styled shoot was no exception. The inspiration from this shoot came from a local photographer’s group that I am part of. We wanted an excuse to all get together and contribute to a shoot that would encompass everything that screams “vintage bride”. Teapots, lace, and bird cages are all precious pieces my dreams are made of. I simply couldn’t get it off my mind and went into crazy old lady mode to gather all of the details for my vision. Some of the places on my list were The Feathered Nest and The Vintage Connection in Statesboro and Two Women and a Warehouse in Savannah. These stores are a vintage lover’s playground!
Christina from Christina Hartman Photography and Heather from Southern Boutique Photography were the two other wildly talented photographers behind this session. If you are in the mood to see more images from different points of view, please go check out their blogs! We grabbed a couple of gorgeous models and with the help of several local vendors, we had a perfect set up.
In my experience, I’ve learned how to roll with the punches Mother Nature throws, but not necessarily welcome her with open arms. It was a very rainy afternoon and although it didn’t fit my original vision for dancing sunlight and romantic rays we usually get during this time in these thick Georgia woods, we embraced the weather and moved forward with the rain! She gifted us with just the right amount of charm to add to the tea party!
We had Kaci Sharp at the shoot to do hair and Justina Ford from J.Ford Creations Makeup Artistry to do makeup. Both women did a fabulous job and I can’t say enough good things about them! They both went above and beyond to capture the vintage look we were going for and stuck around to see their hard work be photographed!
The results were magnificent and I am thankful for the easy going ladies who braved some raindrops to help create some day dream worthy images.
The other fun part about this shoot, is that as a bride, it was a way for me to throw some ideas around. Styled shoots are great for that and I’ve been scouting them out lately, hoping for something to spark wedding planning inspiration! I hope that you feel that way about this lovely gem. If it has, please go check out the sweet vendors who all played a part in making our inspiration a reality! They all deserve a big THANKS and lots of love!
