Birthdays are so fun. You can be a diva all day long and no one can call you on it because it’s yourrrrr birthday. I love it! (not that I’m a diva. ;-))
My birthday was last Friday and I decided about a week in advance that I wanted to have an ugly sweater party, even though these are usually reserved for Christmas. For those who haven’t been to one or don’t know what this is, it’s a party just like any other, but the point is to wear the tackiest sweater you can get your hands on.
Think back to elementary school. You know you have a memory of at least one of your teachers wearing some gawdy vest or sweater that had snowmen or a big glittery wreath or even a lit tree on it! I remember seeing those and thinking that they were the coolest thing ever. It’s funny now because I’m pretty sure if I was an elementary school teacher I would totally be wearing them to school. The reason that the parties are usually Christmas themed though, is because those sweaters are usually the ugliest!! Just how I like them!
Since my birthday is after Christmas, I didn’t make the Christmas theme a must, instead, I told everyone that since I was turning the ripe old age of 26 ;-), that we should all wear old lady sweaters.
Most of my friends got pretty into it and I loved the turnout! It was a wonderful birthday and I was so excited to get to spend it with some of my oldest friends!
Awwwwwww! I love being on your blog! And I love the gloves and beanie you gave me. I'm glad you didn't keep them for yourself 😉
