So I made it! I am officially at home in Lubbock and an hour away from being a complete family again.

It’s funny when I try to make my own plans and God just laughs and gives me a run for my money. Last Sunday I was planning on being in Dallas by Monday and hanging out with Deb and all of my Dallas friends and maybe making my way to Lubbock by today but it all turned out different. Instead, I flew here and the first person I was supposed to see is now one of the last!

Debbie and Rudy have been through a crazy week as well. They had an opportunity thrown in their direction and had a big decision to make but as of tonight, they will be living in Lubbock, Texas once again! Crazy, right?

I am so excited about being a family all under mom and dad’s roof for a little while this winter. It’s such a blessing and a great great Christmas present!

I have almost completely adjusted to the time difference and I love sleeping in my old bedroom but Lubbock feels completely different and it’s been a weird 2 days.

While I was here over the summer I felt right at home because I had only been gone for 2 months. Coming home this time doesn’t exactly feel like coming home anymore. A lot has changed. Good and bad I guess, but I think the part I like is knowing I have created a home with James in Germany and we have made a family there that I feel good about.

Speaking of that booger…he is the only thing that would make this week better. I am getting bummed about being away from him for the holidays..it’s like I haven’t really had time to think about it until now. I am sure we will talk though and I can’t get upset about things I can’t change. I’m just going to hope that maybe next year we can spend Christmas together.
